Police are appealing for information from the public after a Jaguar S-Type was set on fire in a pub car park in Wolverhampton and subsequently exploded.A Jaguar car was set on fire by arsonists in the car park of the Woodbine pub in Bushbury, Wolverhampton today.

Passing resident Nicholas Clarke filmed the car engulfed in flames and the subsequent explosion.

"I heard a loud explosion and my first thought was that a car had driven into a house again, because that has happened before.

"What I saw was a load of flames and a car on fire, so I started filming and then it exploded. It was incredible - anybody standing near it would have been toast.

"It was a bit of shock to say the least. I was amazed to capture it on camera. You don't realise how much these things can go up.

The blaze was put out by fire crews who were called to the scene.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were called between 6.20pm and 6.50pm that offenders had set a black Jaguar S-Type on fire.

"It's being treated as arson and we'd encourage anyone with information to come forward."
